Each of these magnificent animals has a unique story and is at various stages of training, health, and readiness. From spirited Mustangs to gentle geldings and mares, our horses are lovingly cared for and trained by dedicated professionals. With time, patience, and gentling, Penny has made excellent progress. She now halters and leads, making her an ideal pasture pet or companion horse. Penny has a sweet personality, loves treats, and continues to gain confidence each day.

While Ava is not suited for high-impact sports, she is perfect for trail rides or light dressage-style riding. She has been training at the rescue to continue gentling and building confidence. Ava is a beautiful young mare ready to grow with the right adopter.

Since then, Isaac has made excellent progress. He has filled out beautifully, enjoys life in the herd, and is safe and comfortable around other horses. Isaac loves head and neck scratches and responds well to gentle handling.
Isaac still carries a few behaviors from his past, so he will do best with a patient and experienced adopter who can continue helping him feel safe and secure.

In April 2025, Hope traveled to Cleveland Equine Clinic for imaging and reevaluation of her old injury and was cleared for saddle work. She also received two months of professional training, including gentling, beginning saddle work (not yet ridden), and bodywork from her trainer, an Equine Myofascial Cranial Realignment specialist.
Hope is a sweet, willing mare ready to find her forever home as either a pasture companion or under-saddle horse.

Today, Pixie enjoys a quiet life with the herd and is steadily learning to trust humans. She would make a wonderful pasture pet or non-riding companion for someone who appreciates a gentle spirit and is willing to continue helping her build confidence.

Cinnamon stands 14.1 hands tall, and her exact age is unknown. She is untrained but has incredible potential for adopters who are ready to invest the time to build a strong training bond.

Scarlett stands 13.2 hands tall, and her exact age is unknown. She received five months of professional training from March through August 2025, focusing on handling skills and working through past trauma. She enjoys her training time and continues to make steady progress every day.

Sienna stands 14.2 hands tall, and her exact age is unknown. She is untrained but has incredible potential for adopters who are ready to invest the time to build a strong training bond.

Gypsy has a sweet, gentle nature and is currently learning leading and basic gentling. She is building trust and confidence and would thrive with an adopter willing to continue her training and provide a calm, loving environment.

Spartacus has the classic hinny temperament—stubborn, independent, and strong-willed—but he is also curious and entertaining. He can be dominant and takes time to warm up to other horses, though he is doing well in his current herd. He is not a guardian animal. From May through September 2024, he received training focused on handling and gentling, and he continues to build trust and confidence every day.

Since birth, Thor has been curious, playful, and affectionate. He is just starting with haltering and leading, and he continues to gain confidence and enjoy human interaction every day. Thor would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a friendly, energetic young Mustang.

Dove is sweet, loving, and adores attention. She has started haltering and leading, and she continues to gain confidence and enjoy human interaction every day. Dove would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a friendly, affectionate young Mustang.

She is lightly started in halter and is sweet, curious, and eager to learn. Rain arrived with ulcer scarring on both eyes, which she still has, but it does not slow her down. She continues to gain confidence each day and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle, affectionate Mustang.

Please note that Willow will require an approved Devil’s Garden adoption application, which is separate from our rescue’s standard adoption application. Interested adopters should contact us for this application.

Serenity is calm, gentle, and lightly started in halter. She enjoys human interaction and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a horse who is kind and easygoing.

Aria is learning to trust people and discovering that human hands can be gentle. She would do well with someone patient and willing to put in the work to help her build trust and confidence.

Long-Term Residents
These special horses have found their forever home here at Mending Hope Equine Rescue. While some of these horses are not available for adoption due to age, medical conditions, or other circumstances, they are all cherished members of our herd. Some will simply enjoy a peaceful retirement, while others will participate in public events such as Horses & Heroes and Healing Hooves, helping to inspire and connect with our community. Each horse has a unique story, and we are honored to provide them with a safe, loving home for life.
